Ruthless King by Meghan March
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'm a little torn on this review so I'll take things slow. I enjoyed the book. It delivered on its promise which was a fun romp with lots of heat and alpha male machismo. I enjoyed both of the main characters because none of their actions seemed forced *snicker*. I really liked how the heroine pushed back against Lachlan even though she feared him...but I'm a sucker for strong females in romance. If a heroine rolls over and plays dead I lose all respect for them.
While I enjoyed this book there wasn't much by way of beautiful prose. I am also a sucker for a devastatingly well written book. This one is free of errors and well-written in the fact that it is a good book but I didn't find any spots in the pages that made me want to hug it to my chest.
I enjoyed this one and I will read the second one but I likely won't add the paperback to my collection or read it again. I also hate this trend of cliffhangers at the end of erotic romance novels. IT IS KILLING ME.
